Goodbye to Wally

Posted for Sheri...

Dear Family and Friends,

This is to let you know that Wally has passed away quietly at home this evening at 5:17 p.m. surrounded by his family. We will all miss him but are so thankful that he is in his eternal home with his Lord. Our family continues to covet your prayers. When I have more info regarding his memorial, I will send out another email. You may forward this to whoever you think might desire to know.

Thank you again for your love and support,

Sheri

Sheri, Becca, Taylor & Matt,

I will not even try to imagine your loss, but do rejoice in knowing that Wally is in a much better place.

I can still feel each kiss gave me on my cheek every time he saw me...his trademark!

We will continue to pray for each of you; that God give you peace, comfort, and that you may, now more than ever, depend on Him.

Sylvia, for the Thomas Family

I would like to share a poem my Mom-in-law sent to us.
My Father's way may twist and turn,
My heart may throb and ache,
But in my soul, I'm glad I know,
He maketh no mistake.
My cherished plans may go astray, My hopes may fade away,
But still I'll trust my Lord to lead For He doth know the way.
Tho' night be dark and it may seem, That day will never break;
I'll pin my faith, and all in Him, He maketh no mistake.
There's so much now I cannot see, My eyesight's far too dim;
But come what may, I'll simply trust And leave it all to Him.
For by and by the mist will lift And plain it all He'll make
Through all the way, tho' dark to me
He made not one mistake.
God will hold you during this time Sheri and family.
We love you and share your sorrow.
Love, Don, Letha and family

Sheri, John, Reed, Rebecca, Taylor and Matthew-

I lift you up in prayer, that God will comfort you through this storm of the heart. And in that comfort, you will receive strength, encouragement and hope.

I had emotionally 'steeled' myself for this news but yet, I still broke down. I deeply mourn Wally's passing but I celebrate the life of a man who was exemplary in the way he lived it. I was beautifully blessed in the time I worked with Wally and I will forever cherish my memories as he lives on in my heart.

We love you, Wally...

...And we love you all.

Carruthers...

We were blessed with the Wally wink as well. He was a bright light at church on Sundays. I loved how he leaned forward and whispered something to my misbehaving boys from the row behind, and they just shaped right up!

We enjoyed the short time that we could get to know Wally. We will miss him.

Anything we can do for you, let us know.

"O Joy that seekest me through pain,
I cannot close my heart to Thee;
I trace the rainbow through the rain,
And feel the promise is not vain:
That morn shall tearless be."

I rejoice that Wally's morn was tearless, painless, and cancerless, but I will miss him and his smile. I always felt privileged to know him and all of you; Wally's testimony is the admiration and inspiration for countless people. I love you, Sheri and family; I pray for you and will be here for you throughout this time and the next year. Love always, Maria

Goodbye to our friend Wally. Reading the others' comments reminded me of that characteristic "Wally wink" that only he could pull off. Nothing but good memories for me, mostly from college days in Phoenix, and a few other unforgettable times since then in Bothell, Florence, Oregon and Lake Tahoe. Wally was a unique and original character as a "college kid" who blazed his own path, and became and remained a truly fine family man since. We'll miss you Wally.

Wally was a good man who gave everyone the benefit of the doubt.

He will make heaven a better place just has he did every other place he went.

I knew Wally as a enthusiastic, honest, generous, and caring man and I watched his business flourish over many years because he invested his life and work with those qualities - and many more!

My thoughts are with his family and friends who must have been a greatest joy for Wally throughout his entire life. Thank you for taking such good care of him.

All my best.
