Posted for Sheri...
Hi All,
Sorry for the lag in updates but not much is happening at this time. Wally continues to feel pretty good, especially when he is eating the proper foods. For some reason chips, salsa and beer don’t sit too well with him (I obviously wasn’t around to play food monitor at the time) and I have to admit that I am not always sympathetic! I prefer to fix him a nice glass of beet, carrot and apple juice. :) Yum!
The doctor gave him the thumbs up to travel to California, so on Thursday we hopped a plane to the bay area to visit with family and friends. He will see his oncologist on the 17th then I’m assuming he will start chemo almost right away since it will have been a month since his surgery. Thank you all for your continued prayers, thoughts, cards, blogs, e-mails, etc... It really is very uplifting for both of us to see how blessed we are by our friends and family.
I’ll keep you updated when I get more info from the doctors.

Thanks for the update. I hope you had a great trip! Just so you know it has been hot here until today we are in the 50's but sunny!
Wally keep drinking your juice and Don will drink the beer for you. Get strong before the chemo starts. You guys are always in our prayers.
Love, Don and Letha
It is great to hear that you are feeling so good Wally! Yes, keep drinking the veggie juice as it is VERY good for you. Add a little fresh parsley. It adds a neat little flavor that I love in juice. Also, parlsey is EXCELLENT for you. Some apple added to the mix is really good too. Larry and I continue praying for you all---Love, Sherry G.
So happy to hrar that Wattie is well enough to travel. We are hoping for a full and speedy recovery. Remember that the Carruthers are made of strong stuff. Love from Aunty Joy and the family down east. Remember we love you even tho we are far away
Chips, Salsa, and Beer? Wally!!!!
Please obey Sheri and do what she says - for once - it is never too late to start :)
Our prayers are continually asking the Lord for your healing, peace, and obedience....
da Tolentino's (or Tortellini's as you used to call us - remember when Earl prayed for "The Filipino Family" in church?) hahahaha
Wally and Sheri:
So glad to see that you were able to visit with family. I am sure that the trip was uplifting. Wally, behave yourself. I am sure you will make it through the chemo with flying colors. Also, remember that a lot of people are sending up prayers,so I am just really confident that you are going to get through all this and look back on it as just another trial along the way. Please keep in touch and know that you are loved in Florida.
Love, Marietta and Willie
Keep us posted about the upcoming oncology visit! Glad you're all in great spirits.
Wally, just returned from a meeting with Sandy and Jim and Sandy provided me with your blogspot. Having gone through two episodes of chemotherapy myself over the years, I can empathize with your situation. Keep up the positive attitude and excercise. The body has tremendous healing powers. Don't hesitate to call if you want a first hand account of chemo........Tim McLean
