Tuesday Night Update

Posted for Sheri...

Wally is definitely back to Wally. He is doing very well considering the surgery he had. They removed his epidural today and put him on oral pain meds. The surgeon won’t let him go home tomorrow – says that Thursday is already a day earlier than what he usually likes to see. Although I have to say when Wally told him he was going to go home and buy an elliptical machine to start working out, the look on his face was amusement with the thought that he may have to keep Wally in the hospital for another week if he keeps up that kind of talk. :) He is also starting to get picky about the food – not that he has actually eaten that much - but when he was served cream of tomato soup today, he protested and said he would rather die than eat tomato soup! Hope the nurses can put up with him for another day and a half.

His spirits are up, he looks good and as he says, “I’ve got places to see and people to do”. He’s ready to come home. Please keep praying as we go into the treatment phase of this. Pray for strength and patience for our whole family and of course for God’s miraculous healing hand.

If you decide to make a break for it, give me a call. Dave and I can come down there and create a diversion so Sheri can sneak you out.

I'm totally with you on tomato soup, it's like warmed over V-8. Pass.

Take care and do what the doc's say, they're just looking out for your best interests. It's the nurses that work the night shift you really have to watch out for.

Wally, Sounds like you're ready to get out of there. No doubt. Just hang on and muster up the patience I know you have. You'd tell anyone of your many friends the same thing, and you know it :-) Ya gotta heal!

If you don't behave, I'm going to put on the nun's outfit again and come out there with the Blues Night ruler!

"Don't make me come over there."

Love,
"Mother" T

P.S. Should we be sending flowers to the nurses instead of you? :-)

Wally, As the song says you can't keep a good man down! But you need to pace yourself. Obey the doctors orders and Sheri's ok?
Love ya,

Wally,

It sounds a though you are back to your old self. I don't know what it is about veges and the Carruthers. I look foward to seeing you soon and doing some cooking with Sheri in that great kitchen you have. So tell me, Does Frank like veges?

Wally,

I told Sheri this earlier, but thought I'd pass it on for a laugh.
For everyone else's benefit - my mother has metastisized lung cancer, and has been going thru chemo and radiation. Well, at lunch yesterday, she said to me "Tell Wally....., and tell Wally.... and tell Wally I know where to get him some marijuana for nausea". If any of you know my mom.......that is pretty hilarious.

Hey Wally!
Great to hear you're feeling better.
You know, do ya think you could save some of that tomato soup? I love dipping tuna fish sandwiches in it.
We love ya and are always praying for you and your beloved family.

Hi Wally and Sheri,
Well, it sounds like this hospital hasn't dealt with a Carruthers before. Good luck to them.
Get out of there as soon as you can (listen to John).
Cheers,
Mike and Jeanette

Goodmorning to youse!

Well, if I had been given tomato soup I would have said the very same thing. Yuk

It is so good to hear that you are feeling better and ready to get on with things, Wally. Maybe you need some red liquorice????

I think you should do what the Dr. says because if anyone ever told him what you are capable of he would probably never let you go home. So play it cool for a few more days. We will pray that you go home soon.

Take care of yourself, Sheri and let us know if we can help. Praise God for His care and peace in all of this. Love and Hugs, Wade & Janie

Hi Wally!

I am with you on the tomato soup! To quote The Princess Bride, "Death First!"

It is good to read that your spirits are high and your initial recovery is going well. Grace Bible Church and I will be praying for you, my friend!
